Should you always link to Github in your profile?

To what extent should Github correspond to the position you are applying for?
Let's say I'm applying for the position of a C++ developer, but I don't have a single project on it in Github. Or there is no completed project.

Not always, what's the point of showing your Github if there isn't a single project there?
You need to show when there is something to show.

Well, what can be the project’s oversight on the github then? It's just version control.
If there are any projects, you should always provide a link.
