Should I update my iPhone?
I ask knowledgeable people to suggest how to do it right. It just so happened that I have not updated my iPhone since the purchase (it was a long time ago). I have 8+, 11th version of iOS. There are a couple of system bugs that come with this version of iOS that I'm used to (I saw in the store that all iPhones with this version of iOS have them). I don’t plan to change my phone in the near future, because I’m satisfied with everything. But I faced the fact that many applications with this iOS can no longer be installed (even Instagram is no longer updated), and Internet browsers have already begun to display some pages incorrectly. I always avoided updates, because I didn’t want to face new, unknown bugs, and I was also afraid that the charge would be less (I read about this). If I now upgrade from 11th to the latest version of iOS, How can this negatively affect the operation of the phone? With such and such a global update, having jumped so many versions ... Is it true that the charge can hold less from this? Do you recommend updating? Thank you!

It is worth updating, because in addition to bugs, each update closes many security holes.
There should be no potential problems when updating, but if in doubt, it is better to update through a computer, after making a full copy.
On the battery in the first couple of days, the phone will index content and update programs, which will affect autonomy, but after that, the battery life should be the same. Widgets have also been added in the new version, and if you add them, they will slightly reduce autonomy (within 5%)
Yes, it's worth it.
But it takes a little getting used to. In general, everything will be the same. But even if something seems to have changed a lot, then after a while the realization will come that it has become better.
If you’re too lazy, you don’t have to update to the latest versions (which have .0 at the end), because they are followed pretty soon by .1, then .2, etc., in which bugs in new functions are fixed. And in old functions, bugs are unlikely to appear for no reason at all.
To save a charge, you need to follow the tips from Google for saving a charge. The main ones are turning off background applications, except for the most necessary ones, turning off animations in the interface, and switching to offline mode, of course. Otherwise, the battery depends on the application and the total screen time. If someone eats a lot, you can switch to an alternative (if any).
