Should I take Sony Alpha NEX-3 \ 5?

I think there are quite a few people involved in photography on Habré.
I decided to buy a new camera to replace my PowerShot A80 dinosaur, I thought about taking the ixus 310, but they convinced me that there was no point ...
In DSLRs, of course, the pictures are much better and you can dazzle, but the dimensions are not at all compact.
What about DSLR cameras? The format attracts - you need to fasten the pancake to the compact, I decided to approach it more seriously, I took the zoom, etc.
I'm going to shoot: something on trips, nature, etc. nothing special but at the same time I want to be able to grow as a photographer.
upd: Got it, ask questions!?

Among non-DSLRs, these are very appetizing models:
1. a huge (compared to soap dishes) matrix with a crop factor of 1.5. As a result, low noise at high ISO (which can compensate for a weak flash).
2. a wide range of both native lenses and a lot of third-party glasses (both through adapters and without). By the way, the Nex optics are also suitable for the vg-10 camcorder. And you can also put glass from Minolta / Sony SLRs (through an adapter).
3. compact dimensions (unlike a DSLR with a pancake fits in your pocket)
4. not bad video
However, if you are not in a hurry, I would advise you to wait, because updated models will soon replace the nex-3/5 (for example, nex-c3), and there are already tastier characteristics.

I also really liked Sonya, until I came across samsung nx.
Take nx10 from 18-55 - I'm happy as an elephant :) It's a little larger in size, but it's better in the hands and there is a flash.
But if you really want a thin fotik (in your pocket) - take a closer look at the nx100.
My sister has Sonya nex-5. You can argue for a long time that Sonya looks stupid with a large lens, while Samsung has a much better color rendition, but essentially identical cameras.
I would also like to note that they are worth their money. The quality of the photo is really very good.
Still, a large sensor makes itself felt.

Himself, for a long time he hesitated between a DSLR and a superzoom (since there were none yet). As a result, I took the Nikon Coolpix P100 superzoom, which I regret, because it did not meet my expectations. Sony Alpha NEX-3 \ 5 are interesting precisely because they use good (as in high-quality DSLRs) matrices. I myself, unfortunately, did not work with such a technique, but they look very tasty (large matrix, as a result, less noise at very high ISO values, fast autofocus (again at the level of DSLRs), fast continuous shooting (7 frames / s)). The stump is clear, pitfalls are possible about which you can only learn from specialized forums or with personal use, which is less pleasant.

I tested Nexes at an exhibition in St. Petersburg last fall. I really didn't like it. It seems that they crossed an elephant with a rhinoceros ... Cool optics - both zoom and pancake, it is convenient to hold in your hand. But the slowness of both the device itself and autofocus did not please. The menu takes a long time to get used to. And the price tag ... I would look towards the Sony A55, it is not so much larger in size, besides, here we can already use the entire line of alpha lenses.
I also heard positive feedback from people who bought Nex, so ask and test. Good luck!

Great camera. Really like. I have NEX-5.
Megapixel screen, handheld night shooting.
There are no complaints about the image quality.

The model is interesting, if not for a weak external flash with a non-standard connector ...

What is the purpose of this camera? for its price you can take nikon d3100, a normal DSLR with a good selection of lenses. For this one, as I understand it, there are few lenses, but the flash is non-standard. In terms of image quality, I doubt that Nikon is worse. Dimensions - Sony has a small win here, but with a lens it is no longer so small. And her battery is dead.
