Should I start learning cross-platform applications (ionic)?

I decided to switch to mobile development (I used to write on Sharpe), the choice fell on ionic, because it is cross-platform. I started to study, in general - it’s quite possible to figure it out, but then I was interested in being in demand, I googled it, everything is not so rosy, they say that there are problems with native functions, to find a job. Is there anyone here with experience? What would I try and cross-platform and the usual native ways.
I'm trying to decide whether to stay on ionic or switch to pure ios/android development, thanks
