Should I keep learning AS3?

Hello! I would like to get advice. I'm learning AS3 now, I want to do Game Development in the future. Is it worth continuing to study it, or (as many say) Flash RIP, and should we switch to something more promising like Java or C#? What else can you advise a person who wants to work in Game Development in the future?

The main problem is not in what particular language to learn, but in the programming skill itself. Don't fall for the advice to learn how to program in C# for Unity3D, it uses component oriented programming and you will never understand how games actually work.
Also, I don’t even think about JS, there is such a topic that it will die in the next 5 years. Because pure JS is a pain and a pain to write, and with the new standards, more and more people are leaving it.
Write in AS3 using some kind of engine like Flixel, Starling. So you will better understand what real programming is. At the same time, the entry threshold is much lower than in C # or in the same JS. You will learn to think, solve problems, and not fight with the compiler. You will get a lot of pleasure and experience. Then you can switch to any other programming language, with less pain.

No.
In recent years, its place has been taken by C# in Unity3D.
Including in VKontakte / Facebook, it is already used for games, so Ivan even thinks about flash better here.

AS3 is a very good start to start writing games... But then it will be necessary to decide what is interesting and promising... I chose Android and Java. Now I'm learning Canvas and WebGL.
If you have experience and understanding of the process itself, then it will not be difficult to switch to other OOP languages ...
For Java and Android games, I advise "Mario Zechner - Android Game Programming"
