If you do not plan to change this computer in the foreseeable future, I would still add RAM to it. Even for 7 x64 2GB, this is not enough. And then installed 10-ku! Some people may like it, some may not, but Windows is moving in this direction as it is. It makes no sense to rest and cling to the old. The sooner you get to know the new OS, the better.
If possible, for example, reinstall the system - install. Get used to the new interface. Computer resources are sufficient. The system is already run-in, stable, works smartly and stably.
Not worth it. There is nothing new and especially useful in it, only if you are chasing the latest software.
Since "Windows 7 x64 works great", then have a great life;) I myself have two laptops still on it, and I also live great.
While updates are coming out for Windows 7 - it's not worth it
I still remember. 3+ years ago, when I was still on Windows, I had Windows 7 and everything worked fine and flew. The work flowed easily and calmly, the games worked fine and in general everything was fine.
And then Win 8 suddenly comes out. And then I was still young and stupid and decided to install it myself. In general, I knew the pain. Not only was the system not convenient and crooked, but it also ate much more resources. And how the games began to slow down, can not be described.
The only plus was that I ended up spitting on it, sold the PC and bought a Mac)
A small digression. Now the software is developed in the following way. Build a working release and into production as soon as possible. And users are free testers. This is exactly what is happening with Windows 10 now, Habrahabr constantly discusses the next problems of Windows 10 ....
You can divide people into two camps.
Some are chasing the latest software and, accordingly, catch glitches and imperfections. But at the same time, they use the most advanced technologies and they like to mess around with glitches, constantly tweaking new programs and a new OS.
Others prefer proven solutions. In particular, the business is very conservative and not in a hurry to be free testers. And they use such programs as long as they suit them.
I personally choose proven solutions and I'm too lazy to set up flawed design, I'm too lazy to be a free tester. And I choose Windows 7 64bit
Windows 10 is not worth installing anywhere, well, except that you are like Jock Sturges - without hesitation :) And even more so on a computer with 2G RAM - there the seven slows down.
