It's not worth it - because you apparently don't understand why you need it, since you ask such questions.
If the author asks such a question, then the knowledge of Linux is minimal. This OS is quite suitable for the first Linux OS. It is simple, beautiful (subjectively), there is nothing superfluous, it is actively developing.
In terms of security, it is exactly the same as ubuntu, debian and the rest.
I came to her after everything I could try. Personally, I don't like 95% DE. Pantheon is the best solution for me.
And although I understand that it is far from ideal. But if I also work for some kind of Linux OS, then it will be better for ElementaryOS than for Ubuntu, Fedora or something else.
And for 3 years of use as the main working system - I did not find a problem that I could not solve.
Good distribution. Cleaned up and brought to mind Ubuntu. Suitable primarily for those who are sensitive to the design and appearance of the working environment. Distribution authors create their own ecosystem, and do not try to ensure maximum compatibility. If maximum support is important to you, then Ubuntu is your choice. If you want the work to be a pleasure, so that all applications look the same, then Elementary OS. Since 2016 I have Elementary OS on all computers - work, home, laptop. The system is unique everywhere. Before that I was a Windows user. From time to time I crossed paths with Linux only at work - a web server. It is best to put it in a distribution kit in a virtual machine, it is inconvenient to fully use it, but it is quite possible to understand whether it suits you.
