Should I include images in Wordpress CMS in my sitemap?

Good afternoon !
The situation in Google Search Console for 1 month is depressing, Google does not want to index "all 100% original photos" photographed by me.
The plugin costs Yoast, I included images for the index in the sitemap.
Question: Now, in addition to prescribing the Title, the description of ALT + the focus keyword, also indicate the canonical URL to the promoted page so that there are no duplicates? Right ?

1 month for indexing 100% of the photos on the site is not enough. I wouldn't include it in the sitemap. Are they in the page code?

No, we don't.
The point is to duplicate what the search engines "eat" anyway, analyzing the code of your pages

1. If you have a special focus on images, if I were you, I would make two maps - a standard one and a map for images, and then indicate them in robots.txt. Like this, for example:

Sitemap: https://your_site.com/sitemap.xml.gz
Sitemap: https://your_site.com/image_sitemap.xml.gz

2. You do not need to specify the canonical in images. Google just doesn't recognize them. About a year ago, this was even officially announced :
We don't use rel="canonical" for images. If you add an attribute to the header, we won't recognize it.
