Should I go into development for IOS (swift)? Nobody needs juniors?
Question about the demand for IOS developers.
If you look at various reports on the demand for programmers, then everywhere they write that there are not enough mobile developers (ios in particular). BUT... if you look at sites like hh, you can't say that there are a lot of vacancies for IOS developers. Particularly alarming is the fact that no one seems to need juniors.
In total, there are about 200 vacancies in Moscow and only 3 junior.
Question. Or am I not understanding something, or does it turn out that nobody needs junior ios? Those. there are enough experienced developers and therefore no one wants to take beginners?
Or maybe development for ios is not promising?
PS I'm interested in this question. got carried away with programming in swift and I'm thinking about a career in this direction.

Junes are not only not needed in ios development, they are not needed anywhere except for the web and near-program positions like analyst, technical support, etc. In other areas, vacancies for juniors appear 1-2 per month in cities with a population of over a million, in Moscow time it may be 7-8, and now we are estimating how many people will respond to it, even if all those who responded will have no experience, you still have a meager chance of being invited for an interview ( not to mention passing it, being the best of the candidates), but if among those who responded there are people with at least some experience and a couple of published applications (and they will), then you have no chance at all.
-What to do then? - you ask -
Either look for internships for free / for food, or pump up to the middle at home - I will answer
For the first to happen, you need a lot of luck, because the chances of finding an internship, although higher than a job as a junior, are not much.
For the second to happen, motivation and painstaking work over a long period (from eight months and above) are needed, the result of which should be a portfolio of one or two client-server applications that are intelligently designed and developed using everything that is found in the requirements of vacancies . In order to cover a wide range of everything, I would make a client for a social network - there you will feel the work with SDK, and sockets, and work with images, videos, etc. in general, you will learn a lot of things on one project.
Experienced developers are never enough, but more often than not, businesses do not want to spend money on juniors. The statistics, as it were, do not lie, and it is easier to get a junior after some kind of internship in a company. Well, do not forget the fact that you need to be able to sell yourself to a company, especially if you have zero experience.
PS what is promising there and what is not - the archaeologists of the future will figure it out
