Should I choose Windows Azure or AWS?
Good afternoon!
There is a project implemented on ASP.NET 3.5, MS SQL 2008 R2.
I choose the cloud where it will be located. I only read articles about AWS on the Internet. Started a test deployment on Windows Azure. Here's what I didn't like:
1. I published the project from VS 2010 for a very long time (as a result, I didn't wait, I uploaded it via ftp)
2. unstable ftp (I compare it with other sites)
3. I read a lot of information, but I still don't understand how to do it SQL Database backups. Will they be restored later in MS SQL 2008 or 2012? If not, then somehow I will be too attached to this hosting provider
4. I am trying to deploy my database in SQL Azure using the sqlazuremw.codeplex.com/, the error “index is out of range” occurs, and judging by the Internet, not one of me has it. those. it is not yet clear how to deploy the database
5. in Windows Azure there is no service for sending mail o_O - they advise some partner to use sendgrid.com/azure.html#pricing . To use it, you need to take an additional assembly, and already use the classes of this assembly to send mail (that is, the implemented functionality for sending letters needs to be redone)
6. I don’t like the limit on the maximum size of the database (150 GB). Of course, it seems that the limit is not sickly, but why then, when the limit is exceeded - it is written - when executing an insert query, the database will return an o_O error.
The general impression of Windows Azure is that this eyzher is still raw (maybe I haven’t learned how to cook it yet
Who hosts their dotnet project on AWS, share your impressions? Is it worth twitching towards AWS?

I would immediately recommend AWS. Especially considering that they have their own SDK for NET, which greatly facilitates the work of the developer.
Is there a limit on the size of the MS SQL Server database?
These platforms have different use cases. For virtual machines, it is better to go to AWS, and this is Infrastructure-aaS.
If you like the idea of Platform-aaS, that's Azure.
Judging from the above scenario - you'd better go to AWS - it will be easier, more familiar, more understandable.
