Should I buy books of new editions on programming?
Good day, members of the Toaster.
Please help me resolve this dilemma:
Once upon a time I bought books (PHP5 in the Koterov original and New big book CSS McFarland 2016 edition). But it so happened that I only now came to read these books.
Question: does it make sense to buy new books PHP7 and CSS 2019 edition? Or is it better to study according to the books that are now available?

For an initial review, the 2016 edition and PHP5 will be enough, at this stage there is no point in buying new editions.
Somehow I started learning PHP from a 2015 book, and so the code for creating a database table stupidly did not work there, a table was not created, simply because some standards changed, I had to make the table "by hand". I agree that the newer the book, the better.
