Should I buy a usb to sata adapter?
Good afternoon.
There is a hard drive on which windows 10 and games are installed.
I have a working laptop with ubuntu installed.
I'm thinking of buying a usb adapter to sata and on a business trip in my free time to connect the game hdd via USB and play.
But I don't know if it makes sense, will I damage my laptop this way?
I understand that this will affect the speed of the hdd, but I think this is not so important, as long as the system starts up, and then I transfer the game files to the ssd of the working disk.
Tell me who tried to do this, who had what experience, maybe there is a better solution?
PS
There is only 54 GB of free space on the working ssd, so I don’t think it’s reasonable to do dual boot windows / ubuntu.
Thanks in advance.

If you have USB3, there will be no problems.
If 2, you will most likely hurt your head, since the speed will drop at least three times.
