Should any USB mouse work through the PC2 adapter without fail?
Greetings.
Went to the store. I bought an adapter from USB to PC2, connected the mouse to the adapter, inserted it into the motherboard connector - there was no reaction from the mouse, even the sensor did not light up. Rebooted, the sensor lit up, but the mouse still did not work. Everything works via USB, but I wanted to test the mouse through the PC2 connector. Connected to another computer, there is the same situation.
Think. Did you get a defective adapter, do you need to enable / disable something in the BIOS, or are there mice that simply won’t start up through the adapter?

No, it's not the switch. Mice that can do this have the word "combo" in their name, because their controllers understand both protocols, are able to distinguish between them and switch to the one that is currently in use. In addition, in this case, you do not need to buy an adapter, as a rule, it is already attached to the mouse.
Of course, you can stumble upon such a mouse by accident, but it’s better to read at least what is written on the package before buying.
