Should a backend developer own a CMS to create a frontend?

I'm looking to freelance back-end with Django, but I realize that I'll also need front-end knowledge in the early stages.
The essence of the question is this: will I be able to create sites on which the front-end will be created through the CMS, and the back-end through Django? If not, how can this problem be solved in general?

Basic knowledge of HTML and JS is needed in order to be able to apply ready-made layout. And if you want to write a backend for ready-made templates, then there is an excellent site - https://themeforest.net/ where your client will be able to find a template for every taste, and you will write logic for it.

What is the big choice? There seem to be only two options:
1. Do the frontend yourself
2. Delegate it to others.
Well, yes, for starters, open up this thought "the frontend will be created through the CMS".

in the initial stages, I will also need to own the frontend
- it's not necessary at all.
