Shopotam, Alienware 18 and customs duty?

This afternoon ordered through Shopotam Alienware 18 in full load. And only in the evening I received information that perhaps my parcel would be subject to customs duties. The cost of the laptop got out under $5000. And if the value of the goods is over 1000 euros, it turns out that you have to pay a duty of about 30% of the value of the goods. According to my calculations, the fee can be about 37 tr, which is just a catastrophic blow for my finances, so I got into debt to buy this laptop, but here if this fee can be hung up right away. Tell me, has anyone made similar purchases before? Were they taxed? And is it possible to do something in this case?

I did not make such purchases, but I often met with customs at one time. And to be honest, there are practically no chances to smuggle a $5,000 parcel duty-free, except that in the declaration write that it is used, with a broken screen and make an invoice up to 1,000 euros, but this is also not the most favorable way if they suddenly want to check the contents.

Here is an interesting situation from the point of view of common sense .......
One can understand a person who gets into debt to buy at least a small, but his own "candle factory".
You can also understand a student who borrows to buy a laptop for $ 300-400 for study.
But in this case - WHY!?

We have a small service that deals with similar forwarding services from the states "for its own", and so - if the price of a laptop is written in the customs declaration, then the customs office is very likely to force you to pay a fee. The duty is calculated as (Value of goods - 1000 euros) * 30%.
We usually send such things by air through our own channel, where the customs duty is less :)

Customs has its own restrictions and duties, intermediary companies cannot influence this situation. There is a support line, it is easier to call the operators and find out exactly the amount of the fee and information on how to bypass it (if possible).

Well, I can please you, the fee is charged only on amounts over 200 euros, and is not 30% as before, but 15%
, so consider your fee has decreased by half just like that
