Shipping outside the US on kickstarter.com?
Good afternoon.
I participate in some projects on kickstarter.com. I mean, donated money to them.
And I'm interested in the process of sending items.
When paying, a message is displayed:
Since you're outside the US, be sure you've added $20 to your pledge amount.

Then I forgot about this business, I decided to just take another set, which for a smaller contribution amount.
Recently went to their special. site larianvault.com, gave out that my balance is -18$. That is, the required pack is hanging, but I allegedly did not pay for the ship. Pretty interesting considering I didn't choose ocean shipping on KS.
I contacted the Larians, they told me to transfer the missing amount via PayPal manually. Threw off, during for added to the balance the amount.
Always pleased with the responsiveness of their support)
When I donated Animusic, I was not told anything like that. They simply accepted the amount indicated by me, made it into the category corresponding to this amount. The category includes sending the disc, and I'm not in the US. So, at least, this is not the case for all projects.
If they write that “it would be necessary to add” for shipping outside the United States, then yes - just add to the amount of the fee (for USPS from the USA to Russia, just about $ 20). Just don't forget to ask for the track number: it's a code like XX 123 456 789 US under the barcode on the receipt. I was surprised that many comrades from America are too lazy to look for a receipt and rewrite the track number from it? they don’t know about this and at first they say that USPS does not provide track numbers.
In general, the founders of projects, as a rule, are very adequate people and all issues are resolved by e-mail. Not immediately, of course, but rather quickly.
