Sharing shared folders between 2 file servers with one absolute path. Maybe?
One of the divisions of the company moved to another office. The channel between offices is weak. You want to migrate some balls from an old file server running Windows server 2008 R2 to a new file server running Windows server 2019 Datacenter. Since there are many files on the shares with absolute internal links to other files in these shares, it is necessary that the paths in the files remain the same. The new server is located in the moved division. Only this division will use this file server. The old server remains. Not all balls move to a new one. Also, some folders and subfolders will overlap on both servers.
For example, on the old server
\\fs\department1\project1\folder1
\\fs\department1\project1\folder2
\\fs\department1\project2\folder1
\\fs\department1\project2\folder2
\\fs\department2\project1\folder123
\\fs\department2\
project99
\
folderQWE \dept1\project2
\
dir1
\\
fs
\
dep The channel between the old and the new server is narrow, which is why a new server is needed.
What do you advise?
Permissions must be left.
DFS is not configured.
