Shared itunes library for two Macs. How?

Good evening!
we have: 2 poppies, 1 file server with netatalk (debian), local area network.
The iTunes library lives on the first Mac, you need to transfer it to a file server, and connect it to both Macs.
At the same time, both poppies should fully use it - add / remove, the ability to use it when the first poppy is turned off.
The question is, how can this be done?

1. Simultaneously use one library on two machines - it will not work, only one by one
2. Transfer the folder with the iTunes library to the server, run iTunes with the Alt key pressed, select the library from the server - we use it, it is written 100500 times on the Internet

Indeed, working with one library on 2 machines at the same time will not work. I see 2 workarounds, both are somewhat clumsy.
1) You can place 2 copies of the iTunes library on a file server, connect to each poppy and synchronize them with rsync 'om. It will work, but it will take 2 times more space.
2) You can try to raise the iTunes server on the file server. Here a foreign comrade describes his experience of installing on a fedora. Probably and under a debian it is possible to stir up something detailed.
