From the point of view of SEO\SMO, is there any difference between a static button (a picture with a link to a URL share) and a widget from social networks? Those. does the presence of the widget affect the "promotion"?

Google seems to advocate installing r+ widgets, but I could not find specific evidence of the benefits for optimization.
For myself, we settled on pictures with a link, the main arguments:
1. there is an opportunity to more organically fit into the site design
2. do not slow down page loading
