or <your clip>.filters = [new DropShadowFiter(<your settings>)]
Take what is more affordable, there will be no fundamental difference for you. The increase in speed, in comparison with Hdd, is in any case very noticeable
It makes sense to look at Crucial M4 or Plextor'ovskie drives. The increase in speed even on SATA2 will be noticeable.
And here I am for OCZ Vertex 4, it is painfully tasty compared to competitors and the same 520th Intel or M4 crusial.
Yes, anyone, almost everyone works the same way, you just need to remember about backup, since the screw will most likely die during the year of active use (not always, but most likely, none of the 6 screws have lived for a year yet).
Don't be fooled, this is just my personal experience.
I started using ssd in all places (both servers and desktops) right from the moment they appeared, so the experience is rich, I installed more than one hundred. And here's what I'll say:
- there is a loot - take Intel, preferably the last one
- no loot - take the crucial m4, several dozen have lived since the start of sales of these models, everything is OK, not 1 flight.
It costs OCZ Vertex 3 on an HP 110-4101er netbook, in which the controller only supports sata 2. The difference compared to the hard drive is huge. Take it better on sata 3, then put it in a new laptop.
For example, for a long time (3 months) I chose what to take, according to different criteria. Finally decided, Intel 520 series 120.
In a couple of days, it's trouble to install on a beech, but instead of an optical disk I'll put hdd.
I chose what is cheaper with good speed. settled on CORSAIR Force 3 CSSD-F120GB3-BK
In this niche, a controller is usually chosen (criterion of reliability and bug-free). I settled on Marvell (Crucial), while everything is very problem-free with it (it spins, or rather stands under the Snow Leopard).
Both of these drives are equally immune to mechanical stress, there have been cases of miraculous survival in a car crash, when the entire laptop is in unusable condition, and the drive is like new. But if you plan to repeatedly write to disk, for example, edit documents, then it will only last for a year and a half.
Plextor are quite good and live quite a long time. Max IOPS you can still see all sorts.
My choice is intel. Not the fastest (although where to hurry with the overall performance of SSD), but one of the most reliable. Good guarantee, there are different series. IMHO - 320/330 is the best. I'm choosing a new one for myself.
One piece of advice - the larger the volume, the better. Not just more space, but also more resource.
Already a year at home on a home machine (C2D / 4Gb ram / kingston v + 64gb) lives win7 / 2008R2 = wife in chrome fills the Internet store with content, I have a team foundation server + I'm waiting for 12 studio.
lives for a year. SSD Life, one of the latest free versions, shows that despite the fact that this is a system screw, my documents / downloads and torrents, music and movies live on the next 2 terabyte.
The only time 2008 refused to boot after a power outage, and it works like a clock.
I use OCZ VTX4-25SAT3-128G ( vtx4-25sat3-128g ) in my laptop - the impressions are the most pleasant. Win7 loads instantly. Photoshop cs5 starts in 4 seconds. I never even imagined that laptops could work so fast.
Finally, I made my instructions for installing an SSD in Lenovo laptops without removing the native HDD. And I recorded a video about installing an SSD-shnik, I just have a Lenovo laptop. This method can also work with laptops from other manufacturers, the method is the same. Go ahead!) In Word and PDF, I threw it off (so as not to throw it on dubious file hosting services) to Yandex disk https://yadi.sk/d/XZt_fK-S0xxtUw and to the Mail.ru cloud https://cloud.mail.ru/public /5ivL/HXAqNvCX7
