setting up a satellite dish in linux

I have Ubuntu 10, console only.
There is a card SS2, with firewood.

Does anyone know how to catch a satellite, are there any programs to display the quality of the signal from the satellite?

Because I myself encountered this problem, and even wrote documentation, but successfully sowed it, I can suggest the direction in which you should move:
1) find out the exact data about any channel on the satellite you want to tune in to ( www.lyngsat.com/ )
2) use the szap program to display the signal level.
To get the signal level, you need to tune the receiver to a specific channel.
also a lot of interesting things can be found on linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

So we tried it, szap is not an option, since the signal should still be blocked, and before that it takes 5 seconds. In screw scanners, the signal is updated every 100ms and then you have to steam.
