Servo or stepper motor?

I am assembling a 3-axis suspension, but I can’t decide how to choose.
Servo or stepper motor?
The camera with lens weighs up to 2.5kg.
Of the minuses of a servo drive, this is the price and it is heavier than a stepper motor.
Of the minuses of the stepper, then the axis can slip.
The question immediately arises, with a constant load, who will heat up less?
I have already looked, in most cases it is a stepper motor. I don't fully understand why. Because of the price and weight (not always critical) or is it more economical and more adapted to such a load?
Thank you

They put there without collector engines for 24 magnets - very great smoothness, accuracy of movement and reaction speed, no servo drives dreamed of such a reaction speed. Servo drives in suspensions are the last century, so to speak.

Serva is heavier??? Probably stepper frail looked ...
Servo has a drawback - 180 degrees of rotation. To the stepper, you can wind up the mechanics and get a smoother ride and better accuracy than an expensive servo. If it is possible to make mechanics - definitely a stepper.

Stepper motors consume current 100% of the time - this is how they work. The servo consumes only when it goes against the set position.
