I hate these online textbooks. Absolute game. The book has been and will be man's best friend! I learned the basics of Java from the book "Java 8 for Dummies" by B. Bird, and accordingly I can recommend it. Everything with examples, explanation and sense, and not according to the principle of "programming while playing" - is it not nonsense, is it ?!
How many people have so many opinions. I studied the first 10 levels on Java Rush. I didn't understand shit without experience. I looked at the free course on the hexlet and java rush succumbed. Why am I saying that one material may not be understood on one resource but understood on another. There is no single correct training.
JavaRush as a problem book is quite good. Together with books it will be very effective for a start.
What can you say about geekbrains, java rush and hexlet
There is a course on stepik, only it is better together with the book
