Is there software that would allow you to do simple video editing (crop, stitch, insert an image into a frame, overlay sound) programmatically? That is, so that all these actions are either determined by scripts, or at least somehow ready-made algorithms are called?

Use ffmpeg . Everything that you wrote this tool allows you to do through the command line, but there are bindings, for example ffmpeg-python .
