SEO: is it worth the bother?

There are a lot of conflicting answers to this question on the net.
Some say that you can’t do without SEO, others say that you can forget about it altogether.
I have a question for a respected audience:
In experience, is it worth bothering about SEO?
Z.Y. please do not write answers like "look in Google", etc. - too many conflicting answers.

If you want to make money with the site, then it's worth it.
Otherwise, you can skip this aspect.

A normal SEO has only one rule: Make a site for people .
In other words, if everything is human-friendly and readable, no SEO is needed.
I did the project without even thinking about SEO, no keywords and special titles.. As I set the counters, I was surprised that tens of thousands of users a day come from search engines..

It is worth paying attention (correct headings, internal linking, etc.), but not overdoing it (running through directories, etc.). I wrote a little more about it here .

ATCO , SEO is a tool. You have the wrong question. Therefore, the answers to it are contradictory.
Most likely, you are a business owner and are thinking about selling online or are already trying to do it. And that's when the question is formulated like this: is it worth it to sell online? - Then an analysis is carried out, and whether there are any sales of services or goods of your business on the Internet and how they happen. If there is a DEMAND for your services or product (people are looking for them using search engines), then SEO can be used as a very effective tool. If there is no demand, or there is demand, but not through search results, then you don’t need to “bother”, use other Internet marketing tools.
ps all these links, headlines, sites for people - all this is not about that. What are people thinking about when they write this?

Didn't find what you were looking for?
