I was told that they launched two identical projects with the same geo, and that the project in which the h headings had a class, positions in the search were very different. But this is something on the verge of superstition.
Of course, I'm not an expert, but in my opinion the presence of a class in the title does not affect SEO in any way.
How are you going to style your headings? Through a tag? What if there are several different ones?
I assign classes to headers on live projects. SEO specialists have no questions.
The interesting thing is that there is no point in filling anything further than h2!
If we talk about the value for search engines, only the first, well, maybe the second level matters. In fact, it’s not even about the class, but about adequate markup and text structure, so I wouldn’t bother if I were you.
SEOs no longer know what to dance (with a tambourine) to promote pages in a sickle. IMHO this is complete nonsense, tk. this goes against the very meaning of the markup. You can’t cram anything into the class that could manipulate the output.
It is possible that if there are a lot of classes for one element, this will make the page heavier (because the styles are not optimized), i.e. therefore, theoretically, this refers to the quality of the layout, but again, this is not such an important factor.
Conclusion : do initially clean and high-quality layout, and don't worry about the classes in the H tag.
