sendmail stub

Good day!
When developing sites on Windows, the Denwer platform was used (a very long time ago), OpenServer - recently. They had a function that all outgoing letters were added to a directory in the form of files. It was convenient to debug outgoing messages, while no real Internet traffic was created for mail.
With the transition to Mac OS X and the MAMP Pro package, such functionality could not be found. Who and how solved a similar problem with test mail?

You can rip this stub out of Denwer, it was written in perl a long time ago and works on *NIX systems with minimal tweaking. I, due to my laziness, use it on my laptop as the simplest and fastest solution.
