Sendmail how to determine send source?

There is a server with the ssmtp server installed on it, as a replacement for sendmail, and I noticed in the processes that the server is constantly trying to send mail to addressees unknown to me.
The question is, how can you determine which script is calling sendmail to send this mail, in order to identify the source of the problem.
