15K is not much, even for a daily mailing. Use the standard forum methods for mailing (ipb is good at doing this).
It does not hurt to write a ticket to the hoster and ask what is the limit on the number of emails sent per hour.
The IPB has a queue of letters, i.e. how many emails to send at a time. if everything is set up beautifully, then you will not be blacklisted :)
By the way, the hoster may have a section in the contract or FAQ, which stipulates the conditions for mass mailings.
Failure to comply with these rules may just turn out to be "other troubles."
The two I used had rules:
No more than so many letters in a period of time.
- The other has a more complicated list: the same quantity limit for the period, as well as the requirement that all letters clearly indicate to whom the letter is sent, why it was sent and a description of how to unsubscribe from the mailing list (detailed instructions or a direct unsubscribe link).
mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=81126
And don't forget to use www.list-unsubscribe.com/
Here is another new product from Amazon:
aws.amazon.com/ses/
2000 free for now + $0.1 per thousand
If users really want to (for example, put the appropriate checkbox during registration), then this mailing will be legal under almost any conditions.
“legal under almost any conditions”, only we got banned for corporate mailing. And it was not spam and people were waiting for these letters. As a result, they began to use the services of www.icontact.com But you'd better still try on your own first.
