Self-alignment of kernel and Linux distribution?
There is an Ubuntu 18.04 distribution. It comes with linux 4.15 kernel by default. Is it possible to use a 5.15 or 5.05 kernel instead of a 4.15 kernel, and if so, how? No distribution update.

If it is impossible to update the kernel using bounty, then as usual - download the sources, compile and install. Manov for self-assembly and installation of the kernel - at least # oops chew.
On 18.04 there is a 5.x kernel branch installed
with the command
sudo apt-get install --install-recommends linux-generic-hwe-18.04
also, plus to those already answered
, there is a ppa with a branch of newer kernels.
