The short story is this. For a long time passed with the official ICS on board, the phone worked fine. There were no problems with SMS. After updating the firmware, again, after downloading, the phone can send exactly one SMS to the official 4.2.1 phone, which regularly reaches the recipient, but for some reason it says “sent” in the SMS status. After that, no SMS can be sent from the phone. All of them have the status "shipping".

I had this, on Xperia x8, I don’t remember exactly how I cured it, the SMS center had nothing to do with it, there was something with the system itself. I had this on the AOSP firmware, then they rolled out some kind of fix and everything became fine.
So I advise you to do a hard reset, if it does not help, then a complete flashing.
