Running gulp on windows?

Wanted to start learning Saas. I installed node.js on windows 8.1 and installed gulp and bower. Used quick start via gulp. when gulp is called, there are ['build', 'webserver', 'watch'] tasks. When I installed a quick start, some errors came out. As I understand fsevents from gulp-watch does not work on windows. I wanted to put node.js on a virtual machine in a virtual box on ubuntu, but it swears at startup - no bootable menu medium found!
