Rockchip 3066 or Freescale i.mx6 series, what's the difference?

I want to purchase one of the "flashcomputers" on android in order to install Linux there. I am considering processors from 2 cores. In the filling, as a rule, one of these two processors.
On the one hand, RK3066 is more common and ubuntu has already been launched under it , on the other hand, Frescale i.mx6 even has four cores. In addition, as far as I understand, Freescale is more open to developers than rockchip.
The questions are as follows.
1. Is there any significant difference in these processors (after all, both are based on Cortex A9)?
2. Will the distribution kit sharpened for RK3066 go to i.mx6?
3. What is more promising in terms of full linux support?

I think that due to the fact that 3066 is more popular (hello to China), it will have more software and better support, but I won’t say anything about the community at all, 1% of China is enough :)

If it's still relevant:
1. Freescale can also be quad-core, for example, unlike Rockchip. It also has SATA support. different GPUs.
2. No change - hardly.
3. Freescale. They have complete documentation freely available (eg Freescale i.MX6 Reference Manual at 5739 pages). Few people have seen documents from the Chinese. If anything comes from them, then only the source codes of some parts of the SDK. Look, under i.MX 6 there is already even an Ubuntu beta with working hardware acceleration. On the other hand, the Mali400 (at 3066) is a popular GPU, used in many places. Maybe they will finish the drivers for it.
If the size “from a flash drive” is not critical, but performance is needed, then you can also look at boards with processors from Samsung, for example,ODROID U2 with Exynos4412 Prime quad-core 1.7GHz processor from Galaxy Note II for $89.00 + shipping + power supply. But with 2GB of RAM, a separate audio output, a heatsink, an Ethernet connector and ready-made Ubuntu 12.10 images with support for hardware acceleration.
Prices with delivery are something like this: from $40 for a 2-core 3066 (MK808), from $97 for a 4-core i.MX 6 (GK802), ≈ $120+bp for Exynos (ODROID-U2)

By the way, I wonder if Mali is also in Samsung, maybe you can pull out the drivers from there?
