Robots for accessing the storage of (punched) cards or plates: where to find information?

Before me was the task of orderly storage of a large number of inflexible plates in one storage. The user will not climb into the storage with his hands, the work of placing / issuing / sorting plates should be done by a robot. Is there any information about some ready-made solutions to a similar problem?
Thanks for any help!

open the scope of the plates - perhaps someone has already invented this bicycle;
personally, the idea came to my mind about something in between a printing house and an engraving workshop

Order yourself an industrial robot with the necessary characteristics and algorithms. I note right away that industrial robots should not be asked on this site.
Google it.
