Return keyboard icon to tray Ubuntu 10.10?
Hello!
Actually the problem is this, after the upgrade to 10.10, the icon with the name of the layout disappeared and the keyboard icon appeared. I tried to replace it, it didn't work. Now, instead of the keyboard, the icon flaunts in the tray. How to return the icon to its place?

Try putting the ru.png image in ~/.icons/flags and check /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/indicator/showFlags in gconf
There is a notifications applet (I have 3 icons for volume, battery, and a layout indicator, which I replaced with checkboxes), and there is a notification area applet (2 icons - 1 for wireless networks, the second is a stupid keyboard icon). And the most interesting thing is that if these two applets are in the tray at the same time, then the keyboard icon is not displayed, and if you remove the notification applet, then it appears like this next to the wireless networks icon.
