Restriction of rights on DropBox

Task: you need to install DropBox on client machines with a synchronization limit of 1 folder. This is configured in the program options. But how to prevent users from changing settings so that they do not mark all folders for synchronization.

It won't work in that vein. The user who owns the dropbox account, therefore, a priori, has all the rights, including changing the synchronization settings.
There is an option to make a folder for collaboration from one “master account” and give other users access to it.

Are you only considering Dropbox? It is possible to organize instead of it for example SparkleShare.

Another option is to run Dropbox as a service.
