Resizing a large number of images in Bitrix?

I welcome everyone. There was a problem, it is necessary to compress and resize large images on a site managed by Bitrix. The problem is that the developers did not set a limit on the size of the uploaded image, and now there are about 1500 images on the site, the weight of which exceeds 100 kb, and significantly. Most are 4-6 mb, and a couple are even about 12. The upload folder weighs 20 GB and it cannot be archived through hosting, it gives an error. Of course, if there are no options left, you will have to download it via ftp in order to go through the software for resizing, but I think it will be infinitely long. Are there any options to do this using bitrix? I saw standard solutions, but they offer to resize all the pictures on the fly at once, and to be honest, doing this is pretty dumb, it would be nice to go step by step, but I don’t understand how.

You can mount the server / folder via sshfs as a local one and resize / resize using the desktop computer (there is a possibility that it is more powerful than the server)

How is that an option?
I would do as per the link ... I used a similar scheme for a long time ...
