Could the password to enter the BIOS settings reset itself and change the settings?
(Periodic planned power outages)

Remembering "youth": you open the block, fish out the battery, carefully tap the capacitors with a screwdriver .. there is no password.

I used to (at the institute...) reset passwords via debug for Award BIOS:
-o 70 17
-o 71 17
