Replacing the touch screen on the LG Optimus L3 phone?

In general, this is the case - a 10-year-old son ruined a phone given to him for his birthday. Specifically, I tore off the screen along with the cable :-( I was upset, of course, very much. I decided not to bother with the service center, but to repair it myself, especially since the device itself is working, and some experience in minor phone repairs I already have one. This phone is surprisingly easy to disassemble (even without detailed instructions ).
The screen itself was ordered on ebay , they sent it today. Attached to the phone, but not glued yet (for testing), so it hangs a little. And found a lot glitches: random clicks, the top part does not work (it is impossible to pull out the taskbar).
Therefore, I have a question for those who have experience in repairing touchscreens. Is it necessary to glue it to check if it works? I'm just worried that if I have to make a return with a replacement, then I won't be able to tear it off without physical destruction :-) And without gluing it is very buggy. And the second question: what is the best way to glue it so as not to leave marks on the plastic and LCD screen?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
