Repair or buy new?

Given : laptop acer 5520g, 15.4'', turion * 2 64 2GHz, 2GB of RAM, video card 8600GM, 250GB hard drive. Iron is already 3 years old.
After 2 years of use, the DVD drive fell off. I didn’t bother too much, because there is an external one.
A couple of months ago there were problems - when rebooting or shutting down, I threw it into the BSOD with an error writing / reading the unallocated area. Rearranging Windows with formatting the entire disk (including) the hidden partition with the Windows distribution is not silent.
As it turned out now, all these were harbingers of a chronic sore of the 5520th - the death of the chipset (nvidia mcp67mv). The piece of iron has not yet died the death of the brave, but already on the verge of starting a laptop is possible only after 5-7 hours of inactivity, otherwise a cyclic reboot. After returning from a 3-week vacation, the laptop greeted me with a constant reboot. The problem was solved by 5-minute heating of the chipset with a hair dryer.
Now the question itself.
Friends, please tell me what is better - to try to fix the piece of iron (1) or to score and take a new one (2)?
If you stick to the first option, then please tell me if the reball will help? On the forums I read that the problem is solved temporarily. And if you change the chipset, then in which SC is it better and cheaper to do it? I read about the cost of 5-10 thousand rubles.
If you adhere to the second option, then please tell me whether it is worth trying to sell a half-dead piece of iron? Buyers offer a maximum of 3 thousand rubles, which in my opinion is unreasonably cheap.
Thanks in advance)

IMHO, take a new one, since the motherboard falls off.

Partially bought to repair other laptops. For example, the screen is valuable enough that it can work in many other laptops without much hassle.
Memory, CPU, hard drive and other small things can also be useful for repairing something else.

I bought for 17,000 Toshiba. i3, 3gb DDR3
I don't think it's worth bothering with junk, especially since you can't solder it at the factory.
If you are the worst person, warm and sell.

Buy new. For the second time, my video card burned out on a Dell XP m1330. Yes, 3 years is too long.

First of all, what you need to do is to rummage through all the flea markets where they sell spare parts for laptops. I did this with my Asus. If it is not found, or the price will not suit you (above 3-5 thousand), then it is easier to sell and buy a new one. Selling it yourself by components - the process can take up to a year.
Yes, and there are several acceptable options on eBay for an acer 5520g motherboard.
