Renewing certificates on the server?

Hello, the certificate is about to expire and you need to install a new one, the certificate itself was purchased, but for activation you need to generate a CSR, during generation you also need to generate a new private key, or can it be generated based on the current one?

Nothing can be done on the basis of the current one - everything is done anew. The CSR is re-generated, re-sent to the CA server, the response with the certificate is re-arrived. The only thing you don't have to do is confirm that you are you.
And CSR is not needed for activation - CSR is a Certificate Signing Request, a certificate signing request, according to which it is actually created.
And yes - the key will also be different.
