Upwork

Refund or not? Your opinion?

I will describe the situation briefly: I took a fixed-price for 3 milestone.
In principle, then everything is as usual - the requirements are a little overgrown with interesting details,
but within acceptable limits. This is the second order for the client for upwork.
We complete the first milestone - he pays the milestone, pays the bonus for the improvements, and by mistake closes the entire contract.
He goes to support, where he is told, respectively, that he can only open a new contract.
Opens a contract for the remaining milestones, and then one of the wishes appears, which is interrupted in
"I do not think I would have opted for this solution if I know that beforehand".
In short, the situation for the client is unacceptable.
Hence the options:
- I can return to him the entire amount of the previous project, and my jss will most likely float.
- I can close the current project with the wording Job not as described.
What would you advise to do, with minimal losses for the rating (Top Rated, 100% JSS)?
The fate of this money, in fact, worries me a little.

If he gave a good review, then a refund will not affect your zhs, and if a bad one, then a refund will still not fix the drop in zhs

if you care so much about your job rate, why do you take projects with a fixed price?
projects with a fixed payment can only be taken to fix a couple of bugs, everything else will sooner or later end with clarifications of who thought wrong, changed their minds and demands to redo everything within the already paid budget.

My opinion, for the work already done, you don’t need to return anything, the client is not a child to say - oh, I don’t understand, give me back the money.
Ask the client what he wants? (to terminate, or modify something).
What assessment will put such put, do not worry too much about this.
