Recovering an overwritten file on ext3

Good afternoon, comrades.
Although, for some, it is no longer the same.
An xlsx file was overwritten on an ext3 file system. The user messed up the explorer windows and overwrote the old version of the file on top of the new one. There was no backup, of course.
The question is, is it possible, and if possible, how, to restore the desired version of the file?

At the moment, the disk has been scanned by r-studio, but it restores the overwritten file.
I suspect that nothing can be done, but I ask the habra community to help!

There is extundelete, it helped me on ext4, it restored completely deleted folders with photos. You can try, but in your case I'm afraid the result will be like that of r-studio.
The latest version is unstable, so I advise, following the developers, to make a backup of the partition before use.

Does xlsx itself not contain version history? It seems that this possibility is supported ... If not, then I have no other ideas.
