Recommend programs for Linux Mint 11 Katya
Hello. Today I finally installed Mint 11 Katya. Before that, a year and a half ago, I tested Ubuntu 10.04, but there were some problems with accessing the Internet through it, and therefore I abandoned this matter in just 2-3 days.
I ask for your help with the choice of programs, I am specifically interested in programs for:
- text editor with highlighting php / js / html / css (on windows I used PHPExpertEditor for about 4 years, everything suited)
- FTP manager (now filezilla is installed, but for some reason I can’t in it, select hard drives or removable drives on the left side of the screen, the default is “file system”, I used filezilla on Windows, there are no complaints)
- icq client, I chose qutIM, I don't like that the sender's name in the chat is not highlighted in any way, but it seems like a normal client, if there is a better alternative, then tell me (the main thing is that you can use several ICQ accounts)
- video and audio player, now there are relatives, maybe there is something better
- some analogue of WinRar.
Well, suddenly there are some other useful programs, I will be glad to listen.
Thank you all in advance for your help.

comes to mind bluefish and web developer tools, but I'm not an expert in this

use pidgin

smplayer for video, clementine for audio. You may also need ubuntu-restricted-extras
> some analogue of WinRar
p7zip, zip, unzip, rar, unrar. File-roller allows you to open everything in the GUI
IM - pidgin
php etc. - bluefish, vim (gvim)
video - vlc
audio - audacious
Archives - File roller or mc
FTP - nautilus or mc
My choice:
- text editor - gedit
- ftp manager - mc
- icq client - qutIM (the style of the chat window changes in the settings, read the menu items more carefully)
- video and audio player - vlc and rhythmbox
- analogue of WinRar - fileroller and mc, additionally installed p7zip-nonfree for rar and 7z support

That’s right, it will be like this everywhere, look for mounted drives in / media, my files - in / home / user_name. By the way, I go to ftp using the usual nautilus.
Audio player - deadbeef
For PHP HTML CSS I used to use eclipse.
Then the Aptana python began to appear.
But then I saw the light to PyCharm, but I don’t even know how it will be with PHP, but I really like it as an editor.
RadioTray - for listening to Our radio (only it will need to be filed for UTF)
