Recommend literature on the mathematical apparatus used in data visualization?
Dealing with D3.js, I come across a lot of mathematical concepts that are almost never encountered when solving typical front-end development problems (various types of interpolation, matrix calculations, Voronoi diagrams, chord diagrams, etc.). What can be read on this topic? I understand that the most correct answer here would be "textbooks on mathematical statistics, linear and discrete algebra", but maybe there are some highly specialized publications that consider the mathematical apparatus in the context of data visualization?
