Recommend a tutorial on creating electronic fonts with Russian letters

As ZUGA rightly pointed out on June 18, 2008 , a typeface is too complex for a non-specialist to make.

Therefore, the useful online editor FontStruct (designed for creating block fonts) alone is probably not enough: you also need to have at least some theoretical knowledge about creating fonts.

The question is: what books, what textbooks can convey this knowledge to me at least to the extent that, for example, Kirsanov's "Web Design" is a web design textbook?

In advance, please focus on the main point of my question, without being distracted by the discussion of the disadvantages of block fonts (lack of kerning, the inability to use arbitrary curves, and so on) when answering. I am already well aware that block fonts are intermediate between pixel and full-fledged vector fonts and do not have all the advantages of the latter.
