There is a protected Transcend StoreJet 25M3, terabyte, serves as a file cleaner for a laptop + games are on it, i.e. It has been working almost constantly for more than a year - no problems.
many of my friends have WD from the elements 2.5 "series, I really still have 2.0 (it has been serving for 2+ years) but I have also twirled 3m usb in my hands. So far I have not heard any complaints.
1. Transcend TS500GSJ25M3 has been living for about a year.
2. Transcend TS250GSJ25C has been living for 4 years, in a branded hard case. true USB 2.0
There is a flash drive from the same company. Has been living for 10 years.
As an option - a Zalman ZM VE-300 or VE-400 case + any 2.5 "drive.
Pros:
- you can pick up a disk;
- you can change the disk;
- you can install an SSD; for USB3 it already makes sense;
- you can use those recorded on a disk images as an external CD
- for VE-300: metal case
- for VE-400: hardware encryption
Reliability is determined by the disk - I have not heard of any problems with the case.
I would take a separate SSD (more resistant to mechanical stress) and a separate box.
For example OCZ Vertex 4.
I advise my clients an external box - Agestar 2.5" SATA [3UB2P] USB3.0 It has the most reliable connector. And what kind of hard drive is there, it's already a matter of taste and needs and opportunities and availability and ... well, you understand. Good luck.
