Project management

Recommend a project/task management system

The bottom line: I'm a freelancer, I lead about 10-15 open projects, each with 20-30 open tasks. You need a web or desktop application to easily manage them. Web is preferred. The functionality needed is minimal (filters, sorting, transferring tasks between projects, deadlines, etc.), but it needs to be sharpened for project management, and not just a Rememberthemilk-type to-do list. By cost - free of charge or within 10 dollars / month.

Tried: sheet in Excel, Google Calendar, Megaplan, Basecamp and other little things. Each of them has drawbacks - the first 2 are not designed for task management, so you need to do a lot of unnecessary actions. Megaplan, at first glance, is not bad, but in practice the interface turned out to be inconvenient. There is only one project in Basecamp in the free version, 10 projects already require decent monthly money.

The application will be used alone, for this reason Teamer, Comindwork and others are not suitable.

Who has experience in finding similar applications or solves problems in a similar format - share the options.

Thank you.

From what we tried, I liked
Basecamp - due to the possibility of remote communication with the team and a fairly convenient interface.
9f2ce6bddd1f487fbafccd2c0a1ace0e.pngTrello is good for startups because of the super user-friendly interface, the ability to assign tasks, create projects with checklists.
93bab2694b304d0c8637325dc623bace.pngRedmine - when used, the gant charts were not adequately implemented. I liked the ability to set tasks with deadlines. Convenient notifications: you can quickly track which tasks you currently have and what are the deadlines for them.

Look at Redmine (description http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redmine )
I use it everyday.
If you don’t have time or are too lazy to install it yourself, then you can take a ready-made kit http://bitnami.org/stack/redmine (also suitable for quick testing)

First of all, it all depends on the process that you want to get.
This weekend I exchanged experience with colleagues, and for myself I took out the following:
Scrum is not bad for the same type of work, the same type of projects or maintaining a long-existing one.
For areas that are little known to the team or have many important features (and there are others?) it is more convenient to use CMMI
AND therefore, from the above, you need to select for your process, and not the one with more web-based buttons.
PS We use Team Foundation Server for both processes (sometimes with modified templates)

And we can’t live without Megaplan, the interface is certainly not convenient somewhere - but on the whole we are very satisfied.

It was because of the interface that I did not use the megaplan.
Reviewed both our and foreign counterparts.
Criteria:
* Preferably an online service
* Preferably in Russian, because there are Russian clients
* Maximum opportunities for minimal money :)
* Preferably a simpler interface, since not all programmers
Most of all, of course, Basecamp or MSProject suited me,
but of course the prices didn’t suit me at all I liked it :(
I tried a lot, ruined a week, but in the end I settled on: a

First free plan + Google Docs :)
now €12/month

I tried a lot of task managers. In the end, I settled on Trello . The service is perfect for a large number of small projects, it is free, it is very convenient to visually transfer tasks from different statuses, there is a calendar of tasks within projects.

Here is a description of four or more project management systems - pmexperience.org/ru/ksup/solutions Perhaps they are too massive, but suddenly fit. In general, try Open Project, an analogue of MS Project, but free.

Everything has already been thought of before you - use bit bucket. A beautiful interface, a minimum of functionality, everything you need. If a little cooler - github, but you will have to pay money for hiding tasks. Although it can and can be configured to hide the issue tracker, there an open project is understood as open source.
You can install Mira yourself locally or on your server, you can install bugs ills, but its interface is dumb.

I advise you to look towards a simple and convenient project and task management system - workdoer.com.ua . It is tailored specifically for the task and nothing more. Well, this is not your simple to-do list.

@d_abelski

there is a very simple option. https://taskmenizer.com . no projects, everything is very simple. tasks, dates, statuses, alerts on all platforms. lots of free.
and also glip.com . Here is also an amazing tool. Everything is free there, except for unnecessary video chats for many minutes. But surprisingly, at the very beginning, it did not take root with us.

I like YouGile, personally, as a marketer, it’s convenient for me to communicate there, because each task is made in the form of a chat. And files can be pinned in the chat with quick links. unlike Bitrix, where we always lost them)
