Microphones

Recommend a microphone for podcasts, etc.

Please advise a microphone to voice something, record a podcast, etc. For amateur use.
What characteristics should a microphone have? Microphones for 8-12 bucks from a Chinese store will sound normal?

PS: judging by the first answer, it is worth rephrasing the question: will a microphone for $10-$20 sound normal, and if so, which one to take, what are its characteristics? I have a headset for Skype, but there the sound is just like from a barrel and hisses, as if I’m talking on the phone

I need to record 1-2 podcasts, so I want to order something right now too lazy to enter the microphone). Naturally, there is no point in watching microphones for $100-400 dollars - it's cheaper to hire a professional announcer.

In terms of price-quality ratio, I highly recommend Samson Go Mic. Despite the name, which is not too euphonious, if you read in Russian, the sound for your money gives out simply gorgeous and for your purposes, I think it will fit perfectly. Especially if you get confused with delivery from the states.

It all depends on whether there will be subsequent sound processing.
- If there is no processing, then it is better to buy a microphone at a higher price.
- If processing is supposed, then you can freely use cheap devices. In any simple sound editor that has an equalizer, you can normalize the voice recording (or change it beyond recognition).
I advise you to use (oddly enough) karaoke microphones, because for amateur (!) voice recording, they are well suited, tk. the width of the reception angle is much larger (you won't have to rack your brains with the installation of a microphone, you can freely hold it in your hands).

Blue Mic Yeti
I want to take it even for communication in games. You, for the sake of podcasts, are simply ordered to take it. And don't look at the price, remember, the stingy pays twice (I myself convinced myself by ordering, as you put it, "Microphones for 8-12 bucks from a Chinese store"). Quiet sound, parasitic noises. So the answer is: no, they will not sound normal.
Look at the reviews on YouTube , they praise him.

My practice shows that only expensive microphones are better than the cheapest genius MIC 01.
