Recommend a Linux distribution for a low power touch screen laptop?

Good afternoon. Recommend a Linux distribution for a touch screen home laptop.
Ubuntu 14.04 stood for many years, but at one point it just took it and updated itself once again. After that, the OS refused to start normally .
In pure Ubuntu 18.04, the interface hangs with animations disabled, the processor heats up when idle.
I put Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Mint ... - very fun and lively, but the environment for them was clearly not created for the wheelbarrow.
What do you think would be the best fit for me? Maybe I just don't know how to set it up - then give me some tips, please.
Please do not offer Windows.

I agree with Ronald McDonald about the fact that linux and all his guis under the touch were not sawn at all. And this is good. Windu won sawed under the touch - so what? Damn, it's impossible to watch.
